Mary Clare Theis, Treasurer
Mary Clare Theis is a 2L from East Lansing, Michigan. She earned a B.A. in Exercise Science on the pre-med track at Hope College, where she was a goalkeeper on the women’s soccer team. Mary Clare then joined Teach For America and served in the Indianapolis Public Schools, where she taught high school math, earned a Master’s in Teaching, and built a winning program as Head Coach of the varsity girls’ soccer team. Next, she worked as a Data Specialist for Alliance Defending Freedom’s Blackstone Legal Fellowship. Mary Clare spent her 1L summer as a law clerk on the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee for Senator Mike Lee. At Notre Dame, Mary Clare is Treasurer for the Federalist Society, a Murphy Fellow for the Program on Church, State & Society and Religious Liberty Initiative, Vice President for Jus Vitae, Treasurer for Legal Voices for Children, and a staff editor on the Notre Dame Law Review. After graduation, Mary Clare will clerk for the Honorable Joan L. Larsen on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
